FULL RANGE OF METER TESTING SERVICES
Residential Diaphragm Meters
Residential diaphragm meters are verified across low (check) and high (open) flow rates to ensure billing integrity and regulatory compliance.
Flow rates tested
-
Check-rate: 10–40% of rated capacity (normally 20%)
-
Open-rate: 80–120% of rated capacity (normally 100%)

Accuracy targets
-
Percent proof: 99.0%–101.0% at ambient temperature (or tighter as per customer's specifications)
-
Percent proof: Temperature-compensated (TC) models at average winter temperature (20°F): 99.0%–102.0% where applicable
-
Open vs. Check result: within ±1.0%

Equipment used
-
Honeywell Snap™ sonic nozzle provers
-
Test standards are calibrated and certified every two years per 16 CRR-NY 226.5, using metrology standards with calibrations traceable to NIST.
-
Temperature stability within ±1°F between room air, test equipment, and meter under test.

**Test flow rates and accuracy targets can be customized as per customer's specifications
Commercial Diaphragm Meters
Commercial diaphragm meters undergo the same two-point flow verification used for residential diaphragm meters to ensure billing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Flow rates tested

COLD-WEATHER TESTING SERVICES
Our cold-weather testing ensures that gas meters maintain accuracy and reliability under harsh environmental conditions. This process fully complies with New York 16 CRR-NY 226.4(d) and 226.6(b)(2)(ii), verifying performance at average winter temperature.
Who it’s for
Utilities and commercial clients who need certified verification that meters remain within acceptable accuracy limits when exposed to low-temperature conditions.

Equipment used
All cold-weather testing is conducted with our Measurement Systems Computer Prover SN-II units, located in our dedicated temperature-controlled cold-weather rooms.
These systems provide precision flow measurement and data acquisition, maintaining environmental stability within ± 1°F. Each prover is certified in accordance with §226.5 requirements and traceable to NIST standards.

Testing procedure
-
Meters are acclimated to the target test temperature of 20°F.
-
Check-rate and open-rate flow tests are performed using the SN-II computer prover.
-
All data points are recorded digitally and can be made available in any format required by the customer.
Certified Equipment. Certified Results.
Our testing equipment is calibrated and certified every two years per 16 CRR-NY 226.5, using metrology standards with calibrations traceable to NIST.

We maintain an environmental temperature variation of less than ±1°F between room air, test equipment, and the meter under test, as required by 16 CRR-NY 226.4.

All data is saved automatically and imported into our custom meter database to ensure accuracy and integrity. Custom data files can be produced in any format required by the customer.
