From August 4–7, 2025, our team at Utilities and Industries attended the Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course (AGMSC) at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA. AGMSC is one of the leading industry events for natural gas measurement professionals, bringing together experts, manufacturers, and service providers for a week of technical classes, training, and networking.

A Tradition of Excellence in Gas Measurement

AGMSC has been running for decades, continuing its mission of education and collaboration across the natural gas industry. Each year, the event attracts engineers, technicians, utility representatives, and vendors who are committed to advancing safe and reliable measurement practices. This year was no exception, with a strong turnout and a full schedule of courses and exhibits.

Learning and Growth Through Classes

In addition to representing Utilities and Industries with a display booth, several of our employees took part in the wide variety of technical classes and training sessions. Topics covered everything from:

  • Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and Hydrogen Blending – highlighting how alternative fuels are changing measurement practices.

  • Sampling and Analytical Accuracy – ensuring precision in both traditional natural gas and renewable applications.

  • System Upgrades and Next-Generation Technology – exploring innovations that will shape the future of gas metering and analytics.

These classes provided valuable insights into the latest trends, regulations, and best practices in gas measurement. Knowledge that we can bring back and apply directly to the services we provide for our customers.

Engaging at the Exhibit Hall

The exhibit hall was once again a hub of activity. Our team had the opportunity to showcase our company’s expertise in remanufacturing and calibration of gas meters, while also exploring the newest products and technologies from across the industry. It was a great chance to connect with longtime partners, meet new faces, and exchange ideas on how to continue advancing the industry together.

Networking and Industry Connection

Beyond the technical side, AGMSC also fosters a strong sense of community. From the opening session featuring comedian Juston McKinney to informal conversations on the exhibit floor, the week was full of opportunities to build relationships and share experiences with fellow professionals.

Looking Ahead

Attending AGMSC 2025 was both educational and rewarding for our team. By staying engaged with industry developments, continuing our education, and networking with peers, we are better equipped to serve our customers and support the evolving needs of the natural gas sector.

We’re proud to have been part of this year’s short course and look forward to applying what we’ve learned in our day-to-day operations, while also preparing for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead in the world of natural gas measurement.

Utilities and Industries is committed to staying at the forefront of gas meter remanufacturing, testing, and calibration. Events like AGMSC ensure we continue to grow alongside the industry and deliver the highest level of service to our customers.
